We recently had the pleasure of sponsoring hole #9 for the Palencia Elementary Charity Golf Tournament. The morning started off soggy and grey, but by 1 o’clock tee off the sun was shining. Chris Webster diligently put together our beer selection and marketing materials for the event. I went along for the ride to help carry the cooler, but after making it out to the hole I decided to hang around for a minute. A minute turned into an hour turned into all day. It was a fun event and getting a couple of minutes of facetime with all of the players was an added bonus.
Chris organized a longest drive competition per foursome, for a pair of fancy golf socks. If you’re a client, you’d recognize the socks as a little promo we do at the end of a project or after a launch. It was a bit funny once or twice to try and explain to golfers that we aren’t a sock company, but it was a good icebreaker at the least.
The best part of the event was seeing existing clients out on the green, and getting to be a part of the Palencia community. It’s an aspect of moving into our new office that I didn’t really think about. One of the things we’ve always been really big on is our “corporate culture”. Our core values are more than just words. One of our values is family. Traditionally, this has been expressed through making family time and company outings a priority.
We now find ourselves a part of a larger family—The Palencia Community Family.
