JAY OWEN
owner and founder
favorite quote:“When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost.”
- Billy Graham
Jay has always loved technology. From a young age, his hands were often found glued to a keyboard. His venture into the design and internet world started around age 12 when his parents bought their first Mac. It was a Performa 575 with 250 MB hard drive and 8 MB of ram. He started designing and learning about this great new thing that was coming.... "The World Wide Web."
He was involved with websites from the very first plain text websites. After working at a technology firm in Jacksonville, Florida from the age of 15-17, Jay, and a friend (Justin Filoseta), started Design Extensions in June of 1999. The company started as just a web design company but shortly after starting offering a full range of graphic design, print, and marketing servics for it's clients.
Since that time, Design Extensions has taken on a life of its own – pulling in clients from dozens of industries all across North America – his role has changed along with it. While he originally managed all aspects of Design Extensions himself, his current duties include design supervision, project management, marketing, and quality control.
When not working on his business, Jay can usually be found spending time with his wife, Claire, and their four children Hayden, Oliver, Lincoln, and Eva.
